Born-Again

My Story

I was born in 1958 and moved to Fairview, OK in 1966 and have lived here since.  I graduated from high school in 1976 and attended SWOSU, Weatherford, OK through 1979.  I married Cheri Olson in 1980.  My life was centered around softball, water skiing and drinking beer, but in 1985 things began to change.  My daughter Whitney was born and I started reading a book by Hal Lindsey titled "The Late Great Planet Earth".  The book deals with Bible prophecy, and it made sense to me so the combination of fatherhood and desire to learn more about God started a change in my life. I feel it has been a steady growth, but not without peaks and valleys.  One thing that has been fairly constant in my life has been the love of motorcycles.  I have owned nine street bikes, fourteen off road bikes and purchased four off road bikes for Whitney, so she could enjoy cycling with me.  Of all these motorcycles, I only have two now, a 1980 Yamaha 80 and a 1971 Honda Mini Trail 50 completely restored by me,  which by the way, purrs like a kitten. On May 7, 2006 I had a serious accident on an off road bike.  I was only doing 5 mph and took a fall which caused a contussion to my spinal cord.   The result of the accident left me unable to move from the shoulders down and dependent on a ventilator to breathe. Since then, recovery physically is steady, however spiritual growth is in high gear.  I was in the Oklahoma University trauma center from May 7 until June 23.  June 23 thru August 1, I was in Select (OK).  August 1 thru September 30, 2006, I was in TIRR, Houston, TX.  Since that time, I have been at home in Fairview, OK. I know the seeds have been sown and in due season I will reap the benefits of God's promises.
