I been able to take advantage of the cooler weather to spend some time outside in the mornings. I can sit on the deck, dwell on some Scriptures that I have memorized and just enjoy God's creation. In the evenings Cheri and I have been able to spend some time on the deck visiting and going over devotions. I've really been enjoying these times.

School is back in session and I don't see as many of kids running up and down the street as usual. Last week while I was out with my dad one afternoon I bumped into my high school English teacher, Geraldine Burns. She remembered me after one small hint. She is an outstanding teacher and I really appreciate what I learned in her class even though if I had put out a little effort, I would've learned much more.
I thought this might be a good time for a joke about school.

A mom and dad were worried about their son not wanting to learn math at the school he was in, so they decided to send him to a Catholic school. After the first day of school, their son comes racing into the house, goes straight into his room and slams the door shut. Mom and dad are a little worried about this and go to his room to see if he is okay. They find him sitting at his desk doing his homework. The boy keeps doing that for the rest of the year. At the end of the year the son brings home his report card and gives it to his mom and dad. Looking at it they see under math an A+.
Mom and dad are very happy and ask the son, "What changed your mind about learning math?"
The son looked at mom and dad and said, "Well, on the first day when I walked into the classroom, I saw a guy nailed to the plus sign at the back of the room behind the teacher's desk and I knew they meant business."

Much Love, Dennis

  2. Hey there,
You are in fine form today. I love it. I know God has a sense of humor.............just look at some of his creations....hippos, ant eaters, octopus and some people we know. I love the cute Christian, children jokes, like this one.

How are you doing, I know with it cooling down it helps, even those that do not have a challenge has a difficult time when it is so hot and humid.

    Love and prayers.

    2. A little boy was afraid of the dark. One night his mother told him to go out to the back porch and bring her the broom. The little boy turned to his mother and said, “Mama, I don’t want to go out there. It’s dark.”

The mother smiled reassuringly at her son. “You don’t have to be afraid of the dark,” she explained. “Jesus is out there. He’ll look after you and protect you.”

The little boy looked at his mother real hard and asked, “Are you sure he’s out there?”

“Yes, I’m sure. He is everywhere, and he is always ready to help you when you need him,” she said.

The little boy thought about that for a minute and then went to the back door and cracked it a little. Peering out into the darkness, he called, “Jesus? If you’re out there, would you please hand me the broom?”

      Love and Prayers.

    3. Earlier in my walk with Jesus I had a nice sized arsenal of of less than "nice" jokes and comments. Over the years I have found those to be offensive to the Holy Spirit who resides inside of me. Thank you so much for the story :-)
      May God bless you TJ
