Proverbs 17: verse 22

Happiness comes from your circumstances. When everything is going your way, you will be happy. Joy does not depend on your circumstances. Joy is a decision. Here is my  recipe for joy.

J is for Jesus, he should be your first priority

O is for others, they should be after Jesus

Y is for yourself, make sure that you keep Jesus-Others-Yourself in the correct order and you will find it is much easier to live with JOY in your life.

Lately, I have been guilty of putting myself at the top of the list. Seeking pity and compassion from others instead of keeping Jesus at the top of my list. I like to use the Scripture, Proverbs 17:22

A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. I have been less concerned about the first part and ignoring the part about dry, lifeless bones. I am working on getting things back in the correct order. With God directing my path I will have joy in my life.

Much love, Dennis

  1. Dennis, you are one of the most joyful people I know. The radiance of Christ shines through you. You encourage and uplift many people every day. He has you in His care. Keep your eyes on Him.

  2. Dennis, we've never met... that doesn't matter. Your JOY radiates to all who read your words and through your wife as well. Bless you, fellow!
